Academic Classification of Students
The following standards are for academic classification of students at the beginning of a registration period:
- Freshman: A student who has completed fewer than 30 semester hours of credit.
- Sophomore: A student who has completed between 30 and 59 semester hours of credit.
- Junior: A student who has completed between 60 and 89 semester hours of credit in a 120-hour program.
- Senior: A student who has completed 90 or more semester hours or credit in a 120-hour program and has not yet completed a bachelor's degree.
- Part-time: A student carrying fewer than 12 semester hours of work in a 16-week term.
- Full-time: A student carrying 12 or more semester hours of work in a 16-week term.
Navarro College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Navarro College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
