ECRD 1011 Electrocardiography

(64 Contact Hours) Fundamentals of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Includes basic electrocardiography procedures, interpretation of basic dysrhythmias, and appropriate treatment modalities.

 

ECRD 1091 Special Topics in Electrocardiograph Technology

(16 Contact Hours)  Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency. 

 

HITT 1070 Introduction to Health Analytics

(20 Contact Hours) In this introductory online course students will gain foundational knowledge of the role and value of data analytics in healthcare which will equip them to contribute more effectively to local data analytics and performance improvement efforts. This course will benefit people who are new to a job in healthcare analytics, currently using analytics at work, or simply interested in learning more about how analytics is used in the healthcare industry.

 

ITSW 1070 Introduction to Excel

(18 Contact Hours) Learning Microsoft Excel adds value to your portfolio because it is a powerful tool with many applications. This course will acquaint you with the Excel environment, show how to use basic functions, and introduce shortcuts and navigation tips to make sure you work efficiently and effectively. Topics in this course include entering, editing, and formatting entries; selecting cells and ranges; creating and modifying basic formulas; inserting charts and tables; creating a template; and sorting and filtering data. Key introductory Excel skills will be covered and when combined with the course ‘Introduction to Data Analytics using Excel’ you will be prepared to take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Associate (formerly Core) and Expert exams for this subject matter.

 

ITSW 1071 Introduction to Analytics with Excel

(42 Contact Hours) Participants will explore key Excel skills with an emphasis on those most frequently used for data analysis in healthcare. Excel skills taught range from intermediate through advanced and meet all course objectives to prepare students to take the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Associate (formerly Core) and Expert exams for this subject matter when combined with ‘The Introduction to Excel’ course. Intermediate topics include themes, cell styles, and number formats, as well as functions for dates, numbers, and text. Advanced topics include tables, financial functions, what-if analyses, PivotTables and PivotCharts, workbook protection, collaboration, and much more.

 

INTW 1073 Data Visualization

(36 Contact Hours) The ability to analyze and communicate large amounts of data in a clear and compelling manner is vital to success more now than ever. Students will be taught the best practices of data visualization specific to the healthcare field. This course provides an overview of relevant visual intelligence research, strategies and techniques to gather requirements, how to properly build powerful visualizations, and ways to create dashboards and reports that people enjoy using.

 

MDCA 1000 Basic Medical Assistant

(16 Contact Hours) Introduction to medical office operations, equipment, procedures, and human relations skills. 

 

MDCA 1009 Anatomy & Physiology for Medical Assistants

(48 Contact Hours) Emphasis on structure and function of human cells, tissues, organs, and systems with overview of common pathophysiology.

 

MDCA 1017 Medical Assistant Lab

(96 Contact Hours) Emphasis on patient assessment, examination, and treatment as directed by physician. Includes vital signs, collection and documentation of patient information, asepsis, office clinical procedures, and other treatments as appropriate for health care settings. 

 

MDCA 1060 Medical Assistant Externship

(100 Contact Hours) A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional.

 

NUPU 1020 Patient Care Technician

(72 Contact Hours) Training, skills, and knowledge needed to gain employment as a Patient Care Technician in a hospital setting.

 

NURA 1013 Medication Aide Update 

(148 Contact Hours) Instruction in preparation and administration of designated medications by non-licensed nursing personnel employed in licensed health care agencies including the responsibilities associated with such administration.

 

NURA 1041 Medication Aide Update - Professional Development: Medication Aide

(7 Contact Hours) Intensive training in an identified area(s) to meet continuing education and/or review/update requirements associated with professional licensure or certification. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

 

NURA 2005 Nurse Aide Skills

(24 Contact Hours) Upgrading current skills and instruction in recently developed techniques needed for effective patient care.

 

NURA 1060 Nurse Aide Clinical

(48 Contact Hourse) A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. 

 

PHRA 1001 Foundations of Pharmacy

(64 Contact Hours) An overview of the qualifications, operational guidelines, and job duties of a pharmacy technician. 64 contact hours.

 

PHRA 1005 Drug Classification and Uses for Pharmacy Technicians

(80 Contact Hours) A study of pharmaceutical drugs, abbreviations, classifications, indications, dosages, side effects, and routes of administration.

 

PHRA 1013 Community Pharmacy Practice for Technicians

(64 Contact Hours) Introduction to the skills necessary to process, prepare, label, and maintain records of prescriptions in a community pharmacy to include customer service, count and pour techniques, prescription calculations, drug selection and preparation, over-the-counter drugs, inventory management and legal parameters. 

 

PLAB 1023 Phlebotomy

(48 Contact Hours) Skill development in the performance of a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and standard precautions. Includes vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and blood culture, and specimen collection on adults, children, and infants. Emphasis on infection prevention, patient identification, specimen labeling, quality assurance, specimen handling, processing, accessioning, professionalism, ethics, and medical terminology. 

 

PLAB 1060 Clinical Phlebotomist

(100 Contact Hours) A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. 100 contact hours
